Petition Formed Against Chief Keef for Threatening Women Who Refuse Him Fellatio with Murder

Chief Keef wrote a song in which he threatens to kill women who refuse to performs sexual acts with him. The song hasn't been released yet but was previewed on the artists' twitter account and people immediately became angered. Keef is known for glorifying his violent lifestyle. "The Girls Like Me Project" has started a petition to now allow any DJ's to play Keef's songs in the Chicago School District.

Ann Curry's firing

Ann Curry was fired from the today show a while back. This article says that it was based off an idea that the show was trying to keep the male role the center role of the broadcast and they poorly mishandled Curry's firing. Calling it project Bambi

Jason Collins comes out as first openly gay male athlete that Is active. Out of the four major sports, he is the only one to have come out while playing actively.

Opinion: Good for Jason Collins, but not for Carla Hale – sports and schools last places to come out

Jason Collins, NBA basketball player, came out and told everyone that he is gay. The boston bombing had a huge affect on his decision to because it showed him he should live everyday truthfully.

Gender and the Media

This article talks about gender in the media and how women are underrepresented. It states that when women are seen in the media it is stereotyped. A study found that males appeared three times the amount as females in top-grossing films. Women are stereotyped as mothers or in a committed relationship. The big stereotype is also that women are meant to be thin and that is the ideal women.
